Jonathan is a registered U.S. patent attorney with an undergraduate degree in physics.  He has been a practicing patent prosecutor in New Hampshire since 2011, and his practice focuses on providing patent counseling and services to clients, with a particular focus on high-tech companies.  Jonathan recognizes that inventors truly appreciate talking with a patent attorney that can share in their passion for technology and innovation, and his physics background provides him familiarity with a wide range of scientific and engineering concepts and an analytical mindset that helps him in understanding the complex inventions that his clients seek to protect and advising on how best to do so.

Jonathan's primary technology areas of practice include:

  • Solid-state lighting components and systems;
  • Optoelectronic devices – LEDs and optical fibers;
  • Wireless (RF, Bluetooth) and light-based communication systems for commercial, residential, and automotive uses;
  • Lasers and other directed energy systems – industrial and weapons/countermeasures;
  • Integrated circuit fabrication – semiconductors, transistors, interconnects, capacitors, and memory;
  • Electronics;
  • Medical devices – laparoscopic, ultrasound, and sterilization; and
  • Firearms and associated tactical equipment.

Jonathan also has experience with:

  • Ionizing radiation detection systems – scintillation materials and detectors;
  • Ceramics and crystals – optical domes and windows and transparent sapphire armors;
  • Mobile computing devices and electronic visual displays (EVDs);
  • Video and 3D graphics processing;
  • Mechanical devices; and
  • Wastewater treatment systems.
