Robert Matson, a patent attorney with a wealth of prior professional experience dealing in a wide range of technologies, has been with the firm since serving as an intern in 2006. His engineering experience has enabled him to quickly grasp new ideas and gives him a basis for understanding clients’ needs.
Professional Experience: Mr. Matson started his previous career as an engineer by working for instrumentation and automation contractors in Southern California, where he aided in design and improvement of processes in the petroleum industry. In this role, he designed, implemented, and maintained, several new processes, including systems for monitoring environmental conditions in chemical facilities, mechanical sorting machines, and steam-powered generators. Mr. Matson spent another three years designing a nuclear waste treatment facility. Robert was assigned to coordinate inter-departmental efforts to design for catastrophic scenarios and gained significant technical writing experience in this regard. He also aided in the design of a cesium ion exchange process. In addition, Robert previously worked as a research assistant in the field of computational fluid dynamics.
